(2011 - revised 2013)
cello, flute, violin, or viola solo
Fourth suite for solo cello in nine movements, Slow Waltz, Slip Jig, Reel, Lament, Country Dance, Delight, Strathspey & Hornpipe, Air, Jig.

"Lilies and the Roses is similar to the first and third cello suite in style. Again, Canadian folk songs, mostly from Southern New Brunswick, and fiddle tunes, mostly form Prince Edward Island, are woven into some of the movements. The New Brunswick folk songs were collected by Helen Creighton between 1954 and 1960, and transcribed by Kenneth Peacock. The Prince Edward Island fiddle tunes were collected and transcribed by Ken Perlman between 1989 and 1992.
